Phoenix Chorale is granted charitable status

Posted 10/06/2020

We are delighted to announce that we have been formally granted charitable status by the Charity Commission. This will now enable us to benefit fully from all funds raised by the choir to further enhance our singers' musical education and experience.

Phoenix Chorale remains an open choir, welcoming all those who wish to enjoy choral singing and to advance their musical knowledge and ability under the skilled direction of our Musical Director.

We aim to perform two concerts each year, comprising a wide variety of classical and contemporary choral music, and we invite skilled soloists and musicians to work with us to help develop the musical appreciation of both the choir and our audiences.

We also encourage emerging composers and arrangers to write new compositions for us to perform as a means of advancing both their creativity and the musical knowledge of our singers and the wider public.

As an all-inclusive choir, we are keen to build collaboration with schools to encourage young people to experience the joy of singing and to develop a wider musical repertoire. Our own Phoenix Juniors choir welcomes young singers to learn to sing in harmony and to have the opportunity to perform in concerts.
